About This Laser247 Guide
This page is a reference document for anyone researching Laser247, whether they are considering an account, already hold one, or simply want to understand what the name refers to. It sets out, in plain and measured terms, how the exchange operates, how its accounts are distributed through third-party resellers, what each type of market involves, and where the financial, legal and security risks lie.
LaserCric is an independent publication. We do not operate Laser247, we do not accept wagers, and we never hold customer funds. Where a statement depends on a provider's own terms, we say so. Where we have been unable to verify a claim made elsewhere, we say that too.
Where Activity Concentrates
Trading volume on any exchange follows public interest. On Laser247 that means the Indian Premier League, bilateral series involving India, ICC tournaments and, to a lesser extent, overseas franchise competitions such as the Big Bash League and the Pakistan Super League. Higher volume produces narrower gaps between the buying and selling price, which in turn lowers the effective cost of every position. Outside the cricket calendar, European football and the tennis majors carry most of the traffic.
The Sports Exchange in Outline
The figures in the panel above are an illustrative sample of the sport categories the exchange lists; actual counts rise and fall throughout the day. Each listed event carries one or more markets in which customers may either support an outcome or oppose it. Positions can be opened before the start or while play is in progress, and an open position can usually be offset later at the prevailing price. Our in-play guide examines live trading in detail, and the cricket guide covers session and bookmaker markets.
The Fixed-Odds Sportsbook
Alongside the exchange sits a conventional sportsbook, where the platform itself quotes a price and accepts the wager directly. The sportsbook suits customers who prefer a single confirmed price over the process of matching with another party, and it offers combination bets and long-term outright markets that exchanges rarely support. The trade-off is a built-in margin, which means sportsbook prices on the same outcome are normally a little less generous than those available on the exchange.
Casino Tables and Instant Games
The casino section groups traditional Indian card games such as Teen Patti and Andar Bahar, international table games including roulette and baccarat, and short-format titles such as crash and grid-prediction games. Unlike the exchange, every casino game carries a fixed mathematical advantage for the house, and no method of play removes it. Our casino guide publishes the house edge for each category so that the cost of play can be judged before a session begins.
Recently Added Products
The platform periodically introduces new formats, including fantasy-style cricket contests and additional market types. New products deserve the same scrutiny as established ones: read the rules of any unfamiliar game or market before staking on it, and confirm with the provider how it settles if play is interrupted.
Live Dealer Studios
Live tables are broadcast from studios in which a human presenter deals cards or spins the wheel on camera, while customers place their stakes through an on-screen interface. Studio game shows built around large prize wheels also feature. A steady mobile connection is sufficient for viewing, although a weak signal can cause a stake to be submitted after betting has closed, in which case it is simply rejected.

What Laser247 Is and How It Is Structured
Laser247 is an online wagering platform aimed principally at customers in South Asia. Its defining feature is a betting exchange: a marketplace in which one customer's wager is matched against an opposing wager placed by another customer, with the platform acting as intermediary rather than as the counterparty. The same account also provides a fixed-odds sportsbook and a casino section.
In a conventional sportsbook, the operator sets every price and builds a margin into it, so that the combined implied probabilities of all outcomes exceed one hundred per cent. On an exchange, prices are proposed by customers themselves. Competition between those customers tends to narrow the margin, and the platform earns instead from commission or from its other products.
Accounts are not normally opened through a public registration page. They are created by resellers, referred to throughout this guide as ID providers, who operate under master accounts and handle customer payments. That distribution model has significant consequences for security and for how disputes are resolved, and it is discussed at length in later sections.
Exchange and sportsbook compared
| Characteristic | Exchange | Sportsbook |
|---|---|---|
| Who sets the price | Other customers | The operator |
| Who takes the other side | Another customer | The operator |
| Betting against an outcome | Permitted (laying) | Not available |
| Exiting before settlement | Usually possible by trading the opposite side | Only where a cash-out offer is made |
| Operator revenue | Commission or margin on related products | Margin built into each price |
| Main limitation | A wager is only accepted if someone matches it | Prices are generally less favourable |
Why the model appeals to cricket followers
Cricket generates a continuous stream of discrete events: every delivery, over and partnership alters the likely result. An exchange can reflect those changes almost immediately, because thousands of customers are revising their own estimates at the same moment. That responsiveness, together with the ability to oppose an outcome rather than only support it, explains much of the format's popularity among Indian followers of the game. It does not, however, make the activity less risky. Faster markets permit faster losses as readily as faster gains.
Exchange Betting: Origins and the Indian Context
The betting exchange is a comparatively recent invention. The first large-scale exchange opened in the United Kingdom in 2000, and its central idea was simple: instead of accepting a price set by a bookmaker, customers could offer prices to one another and allow software to pair matching requests. Because the operator no longer needed to set every price, it could charge a small commission on winnings in place of the margin a bookmaker builds into its odds.
The model spread quickly among horse racing and football followers in Europe, and its influence on cricket was considerable. Cricket's long duration and frequent changes of momentum suit a market in which positions can be opened and closed many times before the result is known. A side that appears certain to win after a strong opening partnership can be in difficulty an hour later, and an exchange allows customers to respond to each development.
How the Indian market developed differently
In India, informal cricket wagering long predates the internet. Many of the terms still used on Indian-facing platforms, including the vocabulary of favourite and underdog prices, run-line sessions and bracket wagers, originate in that informal tradition rather than in the European exchange model. Platforms such as Laser247 combine the two: a European-style exchange interface sits alongside market formats that reproduce the conventions Indian customers already understand.
A second distinctive feature is the reseller system. Rather than inviting customers to register directly, platforms in this sector distribute accounts through a network of providers, each of whom manages a group of customers and handles their payments. The arrangement allows a platform to operate without a local payments presence, but it places the provider, rather than the platform, at the centre of the customer relationship. Much of the guidance on this page follows from that fact.
What has changed since 2025
Until 2025, the legal treatment of online wagering in India was determined largely by individual states, and the resulting patchwork allowed offshore platforms to operate in a grey area. The national legislation described in the eligibility section altered that position by prohibiting online money games across the country. Readers should therefore treat older commentary on the legality of platforms of this kind with caution, as much of it predates the Act.
Reading the Exchange Screen
The market screen presents a considerable amount of information in a small space. New customers frequently misread it, and a misreading can result in a lay being placed when a back was intended, or a stake being entered in the wrong column. The elements below appear on most exchange interfaces, including the one used by Laser247.
| Element | Where it appears | What it tells the customer |
|---|---|---|
| Back prices | Usually the blue column or columns | The prices at which a customer can support a selection immediately |
| Lay prices | Usually the pink column or columns | The prices at which a customer can oppose a selection immediately |
| Amount available | Beneath each price | How much can be matched at that price at this moment |
| Best price | The column nearest the centre | The most favourable price currently on offer for each side |
| Matched volume | Near the market heading | The total already traded, a rough indicator of market depth |
| Suspended indicator | Across the market | Trading is paused, typically after a wicket, boundary or review |
| Profit and loss figures | Beside each selection once a position is held | The outcome for the customer under each possible result |
The spread between back and lay
On a busy market the best back price and the best lay price are separated by a single increment, for example 1.90 and 1.91. On a quiet market the gap can be much wider, such as 1.80 and 2.00. A wide gap means that anyone who opens and then immediately closes a position will lose money on the difference. It is also a signal that the price may not reflect a well-informed consensus, since few customers are trading.
Before confirming any wager
- Confirm that the stake has been entered in the intended column, back or lay.
- Read the profit and loss figures that the interface previews before submission.
- For a lay, check the liability figure, not only the stake.
- After submission, confirm that the wager appears as matched rather than unmatched.
LaserCric, the Platform and the Provider: Respective Roles
Three separate parties are involved whenever someone holds a Laser247 account, and confusion between them is the source of many avoidable problems. The table below sets out what each party does and does not do.
| Question | LaserCric | Laser247 platform | ID provider |
|---|---|---|---|
| Nature of the party | Independent publication | Software and market operator | Reseller that opens and services accounts |
| Receives customer money | Never | Records the balance | Receives deposits and pays withdrawals |
| Can change account settings | No | Applies market rules and settles positions | Issues credentials, resets passwords, sets limits |
| Point of contact | Our contact page | Through the address the provider supplies | The WhatsApp conversation that created the ID |
| Source of income | Referral arrangement with the provider | Commission and house margin | Its commercial terms with the platform |
Our commercial relationship, stated plainly
The WhatsApp button that appears throughout this website opens a conversation with an ID provider. When a reader obtains an account through that conversation, the provider compensates LaserCric for the introduction. That arrangement is the publication's only source of income. It does not entitle us to any part of a customer's stakes or losses, and it does not influence the risk information on this page, which we would publish in the same form regardless. A fuller statement appears on our About page.
We apply the same expectations to the provider behind our own button as to any other. Readers should test that provider exactly as they would test one found elsewhere, using the checks described in the security section below.
Eligibility, Jurisdiction and the Legal Position in India
This section should be read before any other. Many websites that discuss Laser247 omit it or describe the law as it stood several years ago.
Age
Real-money gaming is restricted to adults. Nobody under the age of eighteen should hold an account, and providers that do not ask for proof of age do not thereby make underage play acceptable.
National legislation
The Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act, 2025 was passed by both Houses of Parliament in August 2025 and received Presidential assent on 22 August 2025. The Act prohibits the offering of online money games, which include betting and real-money casino formats, as well as their advertisement and the processing of related payments by banks and payment intermediaries. It also empowers the government to direct that access to non-compliant platforms be blocked. Reported penalties for offering such games extend to three years' imprisonment and a fine of up to one crore rupees. The validity of the Act has been challenged before the courts, and the position may therefore develop.
State legislation
Gambling has historically been regulated by the states. Many continue to apply statutes derived from the Public Gambling Act, 1867, and several, including Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu, have enacted provisions directed specifically at online betting or real-money gaming. Some of those provisions apply to participants as well as to operators.
Practical consequences
| Matter | Position |
|---|---|
| Indian licence | Laser247 holds none, and no Indian authority licenses online betting exchanges. |
| Offshore licence claims | Mirror websites cite an overseas licence that we have not been able to confirm. In any event, such a licence offers no remedy enforceable in India. |
| Dispute resolution | No Indian regulator or ombudsman will hear a complaint about non-payment. |
| Payments | Banks and payment applications may decline, hold or reverse transactions they identify as connected with money games. |
| Website access | Individual addresses may be blocked by internet service providers on official instruction. |
| Taxation | Net winnings from online games are taxed at 30 per cent under Section 194BA, plus surcharge and cess where applicable. |
Residents of other countries
Readers outside India are subject to the law of the country in which they are located, which may also prohibit or restrict access to offshore wagering platforms. The provider network described on this site is organised around Indian payment systems, and funding an account from abroad is frequently impractical in any case.
Services Available on a Single Account
One set of credentials grants access to every product on the platform, and a single balance is shared between them. The cards below summarise each component.
Betting Exchange
Peer-to-peer markets on cricket, football, tennis, horse racing and other sports, with the option to support or oppose each outcome.
Bookmaker and Session Markets
Cricket-specific formats quoted in the conventions familiar to Indian customers, including run-line markets on overs and innings.
Fixed-Odds Sportsbook
Operator-priced wagers, including multiples and outright markets, for customers who prefer a guaranteed price.
Live Casino
Studio-hosted card and wheel games with human dealers, broadcast in real time.
Instant Games
Short-format titles such as crash and grid games, settled within seconds and carrying a fixed house advantage.
Provider Servicing
Deposits, withdrawals, password resets and limits, all handled through the provider's chat rather than an on-site help desk.
| Product | Typical contents | Key point to understand |
|---|---|---|
| Cricket exchange | Match result markets on international, IPL and domestic fixtures | Prices move after every delivery during live play |
| Cricket fancy and session | Run totals for a set number of overs, player runs, wickets | Quoted as a run line with two rates rather than decimal odds |
| Other sports | Football, tennis, horse racing, kabaddi and basketball | Liquidity is far lower outside major events |
| Sportsbook | Pre-match and live fixed prices, multiples, outrights | Margin is included in each price |
| Live casino | Teen Patti, Andar Bahar, roulette, baccarat, game shows | House edge applies to every round |
| Instant games | Crash, mines, colour prediction | Very short rounds make spending harder to track |
A shared balance has consequences
Because every product draws on one balance, funds deposited with the intention of trading a single cricket match are equally available for casino play once the match has ended. Customers who wish to keep their spending within a planned limit often find it useful to decide in advance which products they will use in a given session, and to withdraw any amount above their starting stake rather than leaving it on the account.
A shared balance also means that open positions on one product reduce the amount available for another. That relationship is explained further under balance and exposure.
How Exchange Prices Work
Exchange prices are displayed in decimal form. A decimal price expresses the total return per rupee staked, including the stake itself. A price of 2.50 therefore returns ₹250 for every ₹100 staked if the selection succeeds, comprising ₹150 of profit and the original ₹100.
Converting a price into a probability
Dividing one by the decimal price gives the probability that the price implies. Comparing that figure with one's own assessment is the most useful single test of whether a price represents value.
| Decimal price | Implied probability | Profit on ₹1,000 if successful |
|---|---|---|
| 1.25 | 80.0% | ₹250 |
| 1.50 | 66.7% | ₹500 |
| 2.00 | 50.0% | ₹1,000 |
| 3.00 | 33.3% | ₹2,000 |
| 4.00 | 25.0% | ₹3,000 |
| 6.00 | 16.7% | ₹5,000 |
Backing and laying
To back a selection is to wager that it will happen. The most that can be lost is the stake. To lay a selection is to wager that it will not happen, which places the customer in the position normally occupied by a bookmaker. The person laying receives the backer's stake if the selection fails, but must pay the backer's profit if it succeeds.
The amount a layer stands to lose is called the liability, and it is calculated as the stake multiplied by the price minus one. Laying ₹1,000 at 2.50 creates a liability of ₹1,500. Laying the same ₹1,000 at 8.00 creates a liability of ₹7,000. The platform reserves the liability from the balance as soon as the lay is matched, which is why a customer can find the available balance falling sharply after a single lay at a high price.
Matched and unmatched wagers
A wager on an exchange is only binding once another customer accepts the opposite side. Until then it remains unmatched and may be cancelled. If the market moves away from the requested price, an unmatched wager may never be accepted at all. Customers should check that a wager shows as matched before assuming they hold a position, particularly in fast-moving live markets.
Commission and the cost of trading
Where an exchange charges commission, it is usually a percentage of net winnings on a market rather than a charge on each wager. The rate varies between platforms and products, and the exact figure applicable to a particular account should be confirmed with the provider. Even without commission, a customer who repeatedly enters and exits positions pays an implicit cost in the gap between the best back price and the best lay price.
A worked treatment of these calculations, including the formula for balancing a position before settlement, appears in our back and lay guide.
Cricket Market Types
Cricket accounts for the greater part of activity on the platform, and several of its market formats are specific to the Indian betting tradition. Understanding how each is quoted and settled prevents the most common misunderstandings.
| Market | What is being predicted | How it is quoted | Settlement basis |
|---|---|---|---|
| Match odds | The winner of the match | Decimal prices, back and lay | Official result |
| Bookmaker | The winner, priced by a dedicated desk | Two figures representing paise per rupee | Official result |
| Session or fancy | Runs scored by a fixed point in the innings | A run line with "yes" and "no" rates | Score at the stated over |
| Player runs | A named batter's individual total | A run line | Batter's final score |
| Fall of wicket | The partnership total when the next wicket falls | A run line | Score at dismissal |
| Toss | The team that wins the toss | Decimal prices | Toss result |
Session markets in more detail
A session market might ask how many runs a side will have scored after six overs. The screen shows two numbers, for example 48 and 50. A customer who expects fewer runs takes the "no" side at the lower figure, and one who expects more takes the "yes" side at the higher figure. The rates displayed beneath the run line determine the payout per rupee staked. If the innings is shortened by weather or another interruption before the relevant over is completed, settlement depends on the platform's published rules, which should be read before staking.
Simulated and virtual cricket
The platform also lists computer-generated cricket matches that run continuously. These are not live sport. Their outcomes are produced by software, and they should be approached in the same way as any other casino-style product. Our cricket guide explains how they differ from real fixtures.
Rules that are frequently overlooked
- Markets may be suspended during a review, a boundary check or any period in which the platform considers the price unreliable.
- Wagers placed after an event has occurred but before the feed has updated may be voided.
- Abandoned or rain-affected matches can be settled differently in different market types.
- The broadcast a customer watches may run several seconds behind the data used by the market.
Settlement Rules, Voided Wagers and Interrupted Matches
A wager is settled according to the rules of the specific market on which it was placed, not according to what a customer might reasonably expect. Disputes most often arise where those rules were not read in advance. The situations below account for the majority of settlement queries on cricket markets.
| Situation | Typical treatment | What to check beforehand |
|---|---|---|
| Match abandoned without a result | Match-result wagers are usually voided and stakes returned | The market's abandonment rule |
| Overs reduced by rain | Session markets for overs not reached are usually voided; others may stand | Whether the market requires a minimum number of overs |
| Result decided by a tie-break | Settled on the official result, including any super over | Whether tie-break play is included in the market |
| Wager placed after the event | Voided if placed after the outcome was known | The platform's late-wager policy |
| Obvious pricing error | May be voided or resettled at a corrected price | The palpable-error clause |
| Player does not bat | Player-run markets are often voided | The player market's participation rule |
A voided wager is treated as though it was never placed: the stake is returned and any associated liability is released. Where a customer believes a market has been settled incorrectly, the matter should be raised with the provider promptly, supported by a screenshot of the wager slip showing the time, price and stake. Requests made several days later are harder to investigate and are less likely to succeed.
A Worked Example: One Position From Opening to Close
The following example is hypothetical and is included solely to show how the arithmetic of an exchange position operates. It is not a recommendation, and the prices are illustrative.
Opening the position
Before a Twenty20 match, a customer backs Team A to win at a price of 2.20 with a stake of ₹1,000. If Team A wins, the customer's profit will be ₹1,200. If Team A loses, the customer loses the ₹1,000 stake.
The price moves
Team A bowls well in the first innings and restricts the opposition to a modest total. By the interval, the price on Team A has shortened to 1.70, reflecting the market's view that a win is now more likely than it was before the match.
Closing the position
The customer can now lay Team A at 1.70 to secure a result regardless of the outcome. The lay stake required to produce an equal result either way is the original stake multiplied by the original price, divided by the current price: ₹1,000 × 2.20 ÷ 1.70, which is approximately ₹1,294.
| Outcome | Back position | Lay position | Net result |
|---|---|---|---|
| Team A wins | +₹1,200 | −₹906 (₹1,294 × 0.70) | +₹294 |
| Team A loses | −₹1,000 | +₹1,294 | +₹294 |
The customer has converted an uncertain position into a fixed gain of approximately ₹294, before any commission. Had the price moved the other way, to 3.00 for example, the same calculation would have fixed a loss rather than a gain. Closing a position limits uncertainty; it does not guarantee profit.
Points the example illustrates
- A position's value changes with the price, not only with the final result.
- Closing out requires sufficient balance to cover the lay liability at the moment of closing.
- In a fast market the closing price may have moved by the time the lay is matched.
- Commission, where charged, reduces the fixed gain slightly.
Glossary of Cricket Betting Terms Used in India
Several terms common on Indian-facing platforms have no equivalent in the European exchange vocabulary. The definitions below describe their general usage; precise rules for each market are set by the platform and should be consulted before staking.
| Term | General meaning |
|---|---|
| Lagai | Staking on the favourite in a bookmaker-style market |
| Khai | Staking against the favourite, the equivalent of taking the opposing side |
| Rate | The price in a bookmaker market, often expressed in paise per rupee |
| Session | A market on the runs scored by a specified over |
| Fancy | A collective term for session, player and other proposition markets |
| Lambi | A market on the total runs in a complete innings |
| Khado | A wager that the total will fall within a stated range of runs |
| Yes and no | The two sides of a run-line market: more runs or fewer runs than the line |
| Ball running | The status shown while a delivery is in progress, during which markets are closed |
| Suspended | Trading temporarily halted, typically after a significant event |
Usage varies between providers and regions, and the same word can carry slightly different meanings on different platforms. Any term that is unclear should be clarified with the provider before a stake is placed on a market that uses it. The cricket guide contains a longer treatment of these terms with examples.
Account Terminology
The vocabulary used by providers is rarely explained to new customers. The following definitions reflect how the terms are commonly used in this sector; individual providers may use them slightly differently, and any doubt should be resolved in writing.
Two terms deserve particular attention. The balance can appear substantial while most of it is committed to open positions, and only the amount free of exposure can be withdrawn.
| Term | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Laser247 ID | The user name that identifies an account on the platform, issued by a provider |
| Credentials | The user name and password. No one-time password is used, so the password alone protects the account |
| Demo ID | An account loaded with play credit for familiarisation. Its balance has no cash value |
| Provider or agent | The reseller that opens the account, accepts deposits and pays withdrawals |
| Master or panel account | The provider's own administrative account, from which customer IDs are created |
| Balance | The total value on the account, including amounts committed to open positions |
| Exposure | The maximum loss that current open positions could produce |
| Liability | The amount at risk on a lay wager |
| Wagering requirement | The volume of stakes needed before bonus credit can be withdrawn |
| Stake limit | The maximum permitted on a single wager or market, set by the platform or provider |
| UTR | The unique transaction reference issued by a bank for a UPI or IMPS transfer |
How an Account Is Issued
The issuing process is conducted almost entirely through a messaging conversation. It is short, but each stage carries a decision that affects the safety of the account. A full message-by-message account of the process is available in our registration guide.
Initial contact
The prospective customer messages a provider and states that a new account is required. A demonstration account can be requested at this point.
Terms agreed
The provider confirms the minimum deposit, withdrawal arrangements and any bonus conditions. These should be recorded in the conversation.
Opening deposit
Payment is made to details confirmed within the same conversation, and the bank reference is retained.
Credentials issued
The provider supplies a user name, a temporary password and the current platform address. The password should be changed at first sign-in.
Conditions to confirm in writing
- The minimum deposit and the minimum withdrawal.
- The hours during which withdrawals are processed, and the usual time taken.
- Whether a bonus will be applied, its wagering requirement, and whether it can be declined.
- Any fees or deductions. In most cases the correct answer is that there are none.
- The maximum withdrawal per request and per day.
- The procedure if the platform address changes or becomes inaccessible.
A provider that answers these questions promptly and clearly is demonstrating the behaviour a customer should expect throughout the relationship. Evasion at this stage is itself informative. Further guidance on assessing providers is set out in the ID guide.

Assessing an ID Provider
Because the provider receives and pays out every rupee, the choice of provider is the most consequential decision a customer makes. Providers range from long-established operations with large customer bases to individuals who have recently acquired a panel account. From the outside they can look identical, so assessment must rest on observable behaviour rather than on claims.
| Criterion | Reassuring behaviour | Concerning behaviour |
|---|---|---|
| Responsiveness | Clear replies within minutes during reasonable hours | Long silences, or replies only when a deposit is mentioned |
| Written terms | Limits, timings and bonus rules stated in the chat | Terms given only by voice, or changed later |
| Payment details | Confirmed in the chat before each transfer | Frequent unexplained changes of receiving account |
| First withdrawal | Paid within the stated time, with a UTR provided | Repeated postponement or new conditions |
| Sales approach | Answers questions without pressure | Deadlines, urgency, or insistence on a larger deposit |
| Charges | None, or all stated in advance | Fees introduced at the point of withdrawal |
Limiting dependence on a single provider
Customers who use the platform regularly sometimes hold accounts with two providers, so that a problem with one does not leave all of their funds inaccessible. Whatever arrangement is chosen, the safest practice is to keep the balance with any one provider no larger than the customer would be prepared to lose, and to withdraw surplus funds promptly.
When to end the relationship
A provider that delays a withdrawal without a specific reason, introduces an unannounced charge, or becomes unresponsive after a request for payment has given sufficient grounds to stop depositing. No further money should be sent in the hope of resolving the matter, since additional deposits are precisely what a dishonest provider seeks.
Bonuses and Wagering Requirements
Providers frequently offer a bonus on the first deposit, and occasionally on subsequent ones. A bonus is not free money. It is credit that becomes withdrawable only after the customer has staked a specified total, known as the wagering or rollover requirement. Until that requirement is met, the bonus and, in some cases, the deposit itself cannot be withdrawn.
An illustrative calculation
Suppose a provider offers a 100 per cent bonus on a ₹2,000 deposit, with a requirement to stake ten times the bonus before withdrawal. The customer's balance becomes ₹4,000, but ₹20,000 must be staked before the bonus element can be withdrawn. If the customer's average stake is ₹500, that represents forty separate wagers, each carrying its own risk of loss.
| Question to ask | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| What multiple must be staked? | Determines how much betting is required before withdrawal |
| Is the multiple applied to the bonus or to the bonus and deposit? | The second can double the requirement |
| Do all products count equally? | Some casino games or low-priced wagers may count partially or not at all |
| Is there a time limit? | Unmet requirements may cause the bonus to be removed |
| Can the bonus be declined? | Declining usually leaves the deposit freely withdrawable |
For a customer who intends to bet modestly, declining a bonus is often the more sensible choice, as it keeps the deposit fully withdrawable at any time. Further worked examples are given in our ID guide.
Registration Requirements and Identity Protection
Because accounts are issued by resellers, the information requested at registration varies from one provider to another. In our experience, a name and a WhatsApp number are ordinarily sufficient. Anything beyond that should prompt the customer to ask why it is needed, how it will be stored and who will have access to it.
| Information | Ordinarily required? | Recommended response |
|---|---|---|
| Name | Yes | Provide it; it should match the bank account used for withdrawals |
| WhatsApp number | Yes | Provide it, and enable two-step verification on WhatsApp |
| Bank or UPI details for payouts | At the first withdrawal | Provide only the receiving account identifier, never a PIN |
| Identity document images | Rarely | Ask for the reason and the storage arrangements before sending anything |
| One-time password or UPI PIN | Never | Refuse and end the conversation |
| Card number or internet-banking login | Never | Refuse and end the conversation |
Why the name matters
A mismatch between the name given to the provider and the name on the receiving bank account is one of the most common reasons for a withdrawal being delayed or returned. Using one's own name and an account in that same name avoids the problem entirely. Customers should never allow another person to receive payouts on their behalf, nor agree to receive payments on behalf of others, as this can lead to the account being frozen by the bank.
Demonstration accounts
Many providers will issue a demonstration account on request. It allows a prospective customer to examine the interface, the market screens and the casino lobby without committing funds. Its balance cannot be withdrawn. A provider that is reluctant to offer a demonstration before a deposit is, at the least, displaying a different priority from the customer's.
Account Access and Login
Signing in requires only the user name and password issued by the provider. The platform does not send a one-time password, which makes the strength and secrecy of the password the account's sole protection.
The single most important access habit is to sign in only through an address received directly from the issuing provider and saved as a bookmark. Search results for the platform's name include numerous imitation pages designed to capture credentials.
Our login guide contains a full troubleshooting table and a comparison of genuine and imitation sign-in pages.
| Situation | Probable cause | Appropriate step |
|---|---|---|
| Password rejected | Typing error, or password changed by the provider | Re-enter carefully, then ask the provider for a reset |
| Address will not load | Domain blocked or retired | Request the current address from the provider |
| Sign-in page asks for an OTP or PIN | Imitation website | Close it immediately and change the password from the genuine site |
| Signed out unexpectedly | Session expiry, or use from another device | Sign in again and change the password if the cause is unclear |
| Unfamiliar wagers in history | Credentials known to another person | Change the password at once and inform the provider |
Any message suggesting that an account must be "re-verified" or "unlocked" by means of a payment should be disregarded. No genuine provider makes access conditional on a further transfer.
Mobile Compatibility and Device Security
The platform is designed to function within a mobile browser, and for most customers that is the most secure way to use it. No installation is required, nothing gains access to the phone's messages or storage, and updates are applied automatically on the server.
| Method | Advantages | Risks | Assessment |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mobile browser | No installation; works on Android and iPhone | Imitation sites if the address is not bookmarked | Preferred |
| Home-screen shortcut | Opens the saved address in one tap | Minimal, provided the saved address is correct | Recommended for convenience |
| Installation file from the provider | An application-like window | Unverified code and permissions | Only from the issuing provider, with permissions reviewed |
| Installation file from any other source | None that justify the risk | Malware, credential theft, message interception | Avoid |
Permissions that should never be granted
A betting interface requires network access and nothing else of consequence. An installed file that requests permission to read text messages, to use accessibility services, to record or share the screen, or to install further applications should be removed immediately. Those permissions are the means by which banking one-time passwords are intercepted.
Practical considerations on mobile
- Live streams consume considerably more data than market screens; a data cap can be exhausted during a single long match.
- Unstable connections can cause a wager to be submitted after a market has been suspended, in which case it will be declined.
- A screen lock and automatic sign-out protect the account if the phone is lost or borrowed.
The mobile access guide explains why we do not publish download links and describes how to set up a browser shortcut on Android and iPhone.
Deposits and Withdrawals
All payments pass between the customer and the provider; the platform itself does not accept transfers directly. Unified Payments Interface (UPI) transfers through applications such as Google Pay, PhonePe and Paytm are the usual method, with IMPS and other bank transfers also in use.
Depositing
- Ask the provider for the current receiving details within the existing conversation.
- Transfer the agreed amount and note the UTR shown by the payment application.
- Send the provider a screenshot of the confirmation.
- Confirm that the balance has been credited before placing any wager.
Receiving details can change. A message announcing a new account "from today" should be verified within the original conversation before any money is sent to it, as account-substitution messages are a recognised fraud technique.
Withdrawing
A withdrawal is requested through the provider, usually by stating the amount and the receiving account. Before requesting, check that no positions remain open and that any bonus wagering requirement has been met, since either will reduce the withdrawable amount.
| Factor | Effect on timing |
|---|---|
| Name on receiving account matches the account holder | Avoids the most frequent cause of delay |
| Bonus wagering outstanding | Withdrawal blocked until the requirement is met |
| Open positions | Exposure is withheld until settlement |
| Provider settlement schedule | Some providers process requests in batches at set times |
| Bank review of the transfer | Can add days, or result in reversal |
| First withdrawal on a new account | Additional confirmation may be requested |
We recommend a modest test withdrawal within the first day or two of opening an account. A provider that pays it promptly has passed the most meaningful test available to a customer. Typical timeframes by payment method, and limits applied by banks, are set out in our deposit and withdrawal guide. Guidance on delayed payouts appears in the withdrawal problems section of the safety guide.
Record-keeping
A simple record of each deposit and withdrawal, showing the date, amount and UTR, serves two purposes. It resolves discrepancies quickly if a credit is missed, and it provides the figures needed to calculate net winnings for income tax purposes.
Taxation of Winnings
Section 194BA of the Income-tax Act, in force since 1 April 2023, applies to net winnings from online games. Tax is charged at 30 per cent, with surcharge where applicable and health and education cess of 4 per cent. No threshold applies, so even small net winnings are taxable. Platforms based overseas do not, as a rule, deduct this tax before paying out, which leaves the individual responsible for declaring the income and paying the tax due.
How net winnings are calculated
For a financial year, net winnings are broadly the total amount withdrawn, less the total amount deposited, less any balance held at the start of the year. Losses on other activities cannot be set off against these winnings, and no deduction is allowed for expenses.
| Item for the financial year | Illustrative amount |
|---|---|
| Total withdrawals | ₹80,000 |
| Less total deposits | ₹50,000 |
| Less opening balance | ₹0 |
| Net winnings | ₹30,000 |
| Tax at 30 per cent | ₹9,000 |
| Cess at 4 per cent of the tax | ₹360 |
| Total payable | ₹9,360 |
The figures are hypothetical and exclude surcharge. They illustrate why a complete record of deposits and withdrawals, with UTR references, is useful: it is the information from which the calculation is made. The tax treatment of a particular individual depends on their wider circumstances, and a qualified tax professional should be consulted before filing.
Account Security and Fraud Prevention
The most serious risks associated with Laser247 arise not from the platform's software but from the people and websites that surround it. A customer's protection therefore rests largely on verifying the provider and the address before money is committed.
Verification before the first deposit
- The provider answers direct questions about limits and payout times promptly and unambiguously.
- All terms are written in the conversation rather than stated in a voice call.
- A demonstration account is offered without difficulty.
- The opening deposit is the minimum permitted, regardless of the customer's budget.
- A small withdrawal is requested and received within forty-eight hours.
- The issued password is replaced at first sign-in.
- The full conversation is retained as a record.
Recognised fraud patterns
| Pattern | Typical presentation | Correct response |
|---|---|---|
| Unsolicited offer | A stranger promotes an exceptionally large bonus with a deadline | Do not respond |
| Payment-detail substitution | Notice of a new receiving account during an existing conversation | Verify in the original thread before transferring |
| Release fee | A charge or "tax" demanded before winnings are paid | Refuse; genuine payouts never require a payment |
| Imitation helpline | A "customer care" number found through search or social media | Contact only the issuing provider |
| Collect request or QR code | A request to scan or approve in order to "receive" money | Decline; approving with a PIN sends money |
| Remote access | A request to install screen-sharing software | Refuse and end the conversation |
| Recovery offer | A promise to retrieve lost money for an advance fee | Treat as a second fraud and report it |
Ongoing security habits
- Use a password that is not used for any other service, and change it after any unexplained sign-out.
- Enable two-step verification in WhatsApp under Settings, Account, Two-step verification.
- Never disclose a one-time password or UPI PIN to any person.
- Review the wager history regularly for activity that was not authorised.
- Withdraw surplus funds rather than allowing a large balance to accumulate with a single provider.
Support Channels
Laser247 does not, to our knowledge, operate a public telephone helpline. Account assistance is provided by the reseller that issued the ID, through the same conversation in which the account was opened. Numbers presented elsewhere as an official helpline should be treated as fraudulent.
Response times are determined by each provider. Many reply quickly during the evening, when most cricket is played, but no level of availability is guaranteed by LaserCric. The speed and clarity of a provider's replies before the first deposit are a reasonable indication of the service to expect afterwards.
Contact on WhatsApp| Matter | Whom to contact | Information to have ready |
|---|---|---|
| Deposit not credited | The issuing provider | Amount, time and UTR |
| Withdrawal outstanding | The issuing provider | Time of request and amount |
| Password reset or locked account | The issuing provider | User name only, never the password |
| Platform address unavailable | The issuing provider | The address attempted |
| Provider reached through our link not responding | LaserCric, via the contact page | Date of first contact |
| Suspected fraud | Helpline 1930 and cybercrime.gov.in | Screenshots, UPI identifiers, UTRs |
| Inaccuracy in our content | LaserCric, via the contact page | Page address and the passage concerned |
Privacy and Personal Data
LaserCric operates without registration, forms or user accounts. We therefore do not collect names, telephone numbers or financial details from readers. Our hosting provider retains standard technical logs for security purposes, as described in the privacy policy.
Information shared with an ID provider is a separate matter. Anything disclosed in that conversation passes to a third party whose data practices are outside our control. The principle of disclosing the minimum necessary applies throughout:
- A name and a WhatsApp number are normally sufficient to obtain an account.
- One-time passwords, UPI PINs, card numbers and banking credentials should never be shared.
- Requests for identity documents should be questioned before anything is sent.
- WhatsApp two-step verification protects the conversation that holds the account's payment history.
- Screenshots sent to a provider should be cropped to exclude unrelated balances and transactions.
Financial Risk
Wagering is a form of discretionary spending, not a means of earning income. Over a sustained period most participants lose money, and an exchange reduces the margin paid rather than removing the likelihood of loss. The principal ways in which money is lost are set out below.
- Unsuccessful wagers. Commission on the exchange and the house advantage in the casino operate against the customer over time.
- Lay liability. A lay at a high price can cost many multiples of the stake received.
- Provider failure. A balance is not insured, and nothing guarantees repayment if a provider ceases to pay.
- Payment intervention. Banks may hold or reverse transfers, or restrict an account they consider suspicious.
- Taxation. Thirty per cent of net winnings is payable under Indian income tax law.
An illustration of lay liability
| Lay stake | Price | Gain if the selection fails | Loss if the selection succeeds |
|---|---|---|---|
| ₹1,000 | 1.50 | ₹1,000 | ₹500 |
| ₹1,000 | 3.00 | ₹1,000 | ₹2,000 |
| ₹1,000 | 6.00 | ₹1,000 | ₹5,000 |
| ₹1,000 | 11.00 | ₹1,000 | ₹10,000 |
The table shows why laying an outsider is far riskier than it may appear. The gain is fixed at the stake received, while the potential loss rises steeply with the price.
Limiting financial exposure
- Fix a monthly amount that could be lost in full without affecting essential expenditure, and do not exceed it.
- Express each stake as a small fraction of that amount rather than deciding stakes match by match.
- Never use borrowed money, credit facilities or funds set aside for household obligations.
- Withdraw winnings regularly; funds left on an account are both exposed to provider risk and readily re-staked.
Common Mistakes Made by New Account Holders
The same errors recur among customers in their first weeks on an exchange. Most are inexpensive to avoid and costly to learn by experience.
- Depositing the full intended budget at once. A first deposit at the minimum allows the provider to be tested before more money is committed.
- Confusing back and lay. Entering a stake in the lay column at a high price can create a liability many times larger than intended.
- Assuming an unmatched wager is live. Until the interface shows the wager as matched, no position exists.
- Betting on a delayed broadcast. Television and streaming pictures can lag the market by several seconds, so an apparently obvious opportunity may already have gone.
- Accepting a bonus without reading its terms. A wagering requirement can lock a deposit in place for far longer than expected.
- Searching for the sign-in page. Search results contain imitation pages; the bookmarked address is the only safe route.
- Leaving winnings on the account. A growing balance is exposed to provider risk and is easily re-staked.
- Raising stakes after a loss. Attempting to recover a loss in a single wager is the pattern most closely associated with serious harm.
Each of these is addressed in more depth elsewhere on this site, particularly in the safety guide and the in-play guide.
Who Should Not Open an Account
A guide of this kind would be incomplete without a clear statement of the circumstances in which opening an account is inadvisable. In each of the cases below, the sensible course is not to proceed.
- Anyone under eighteen. Real-money wagering is for adults only, without exception.
- Anyone for whom the activity is unlawful. Residents of India should read the legal position carefully, and residents of other countries should check their own law.
- Anyone relying on winnings. A person who needs a betting return to meet rent, repayments or household costs is exposed to precisely the losses that wagering produces.
- Anyone betting with borrowed money. Credit cards, personal loans and money borrowed from family turn ordinary losses into debt.
- Anyone recovering from a gambling problem. An exchange's speed and constant availability make it particularly difficult to keep within limits.
- Anyone unwilling to test a provider. A customer who will not start with the minimum and request an early withdrawal has removed their own principal safeguard.
- Anyone asked to operate an account for someone else. Holding an ID, or receiving payments, on behalf of another person carries legal and banking risks that fall on the account holder.
For readers who do not fall into any of these groups but remain undecided, a demonstration account offers a way to understand the platform without any financial commitment. Deciding not to open a funded account after using one is an entirely reasonable outcome, and the information on this page remains equally useful to readers who choose not to bet at all.
Responsible Gambling
For a minority of people, wagering ceases to be a pastime and becomes a source of financial and personal harm. The warning signs are well documented, and recognising them early makes a considerable difference.
Indicators that call for a pause
- Increasing stakes in an attempt to recover earlier losses.
- Using money intended for rent, bills, education or family needs.
- Concealing the extent of betting from family members.
- Borrowing, or selling possessions, to fund deposits.
- Feeling restless or irritable when not betting.
- Neglecting work, study or relationships in favour of play.
Measures that help
- Ask the provider to apply a deposit limit or to close the account.
- Remove bookmarks, home-screen shortcuts and the provider conversation.
- Ask your bank whether it can restrict gambling-related transactions.
- Agree a limit with a trusted person and review it together.
Free and confidential support is available from Tele-MANAS on 14416 and from iCall on 9152987821. Further information appears on our responsible gaming page. Choosing not to bet at all is always a legitimate decision.

How This Guide Is Prepared
Readers are entitled to know how the information on this page has been assembled and how far it can be relied on.
Sources
Descriptions of the platform's markets and interface are based on direct use of the exchange and on comparison with the conventions of betting exchanges generally. Statements about Indian law draw on the text of the relevant legislation as reported by legal publications, and on reporting of the Act's passage in August 2025. Tax figures reflect the provisions of the Income-tax Act as they stood at the date of review.
Standards we apply
- We do not publish figures we cannot support. Where a provider sets a value, such as a minimum deposit, we say that it varies rather than stating a single number as fact.
- We do not describe offshore licence claims as verified unless we have been able to verify them.
- We publish the house advantage on casino products and the risk of lay liability, even though doing so does not encourage play.
- We do not publish testimonials, ratings or reviews attributed to customers.
- We date each substantive review and correct errors when they are reported.
Limitations
The platform's features, the providers' terms and the legal position can all change without notice. Nothing on this page should be treated as current beyond the review date shown at the top, and nothing on it constitutes legal, financial or tax advice. Corrections can be submitted through our contact page, and our wider editorial approach is described on the About page.

Laser247: Frequently Asked Questions
What exactly is Laser247?
Laser247 is an online wagering platform that combines a peer-to-peer betting exchange, a fixed-odds sportsbook and a casino section under a single account. On the exchange, customers set or accept prices offered by other customers, and the platform matches the two sides. Cricket is its principal attraction for Indian users.
Is LaserCric connected to the company that operates Laser247?
No. LaserCric is a separately run publication. It has no ownership interest in Laser247, receives no share of any customer's stakes, and cannot alter balances, bets or account settings. Its revenue comes from a referral arrangement with the ID provider reached through its WhatsApp button.
How is a Laser247 ID obtained?
Accounts are created by authorised resellers, commonly called ID providers or agents, rather than through a self-service sign-up page. A prospective customer contacts a provider, supplies a name and a contact number, agrees the account terms, and receives a user name and temporary password once the opening deposit has been confirmed.
What should be confirmed with a provider before any money is sent?
At a minimum: the smallest permitted deposit and withdrawal, the hours during which withdrawals are processed, the usual processing time, any bonus and its wagering requirement, any charges, and the daily withdrawal ceiling. Each answer should be recorded in the chat so that it can be referred to later.
Does Laser247 have an official mobile application?
We have not identified an official listing on the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store. The platform functions in any current mobile browser. Installation files circulated as a Laser247 app are third-party packages, and they should only be considered if supplied by the provider who issued the account.
Why does the Laser247 web address keep changing?
Platforms of this type operate across several domains, partly because individual addresses can be blocked by internet service providers. The reliable approach is to obtain the current address from the issuing provider, confirm that it accepts your credentials, and save it as a bookmark rather than relying on search results.
What is the difference between balance and exposure?
Balance is the total value held on the account, including funds committed to open positions. Exposure is the maximum amount that could be lost if all current open positions settle unfavourably. The withdrawable amount is broadly the balance less the exposure.
How long does a withdrawal normally take?
Processing time is set by the provider rather than by the platform. Where the account details are correct and no bonus wagering remains outstanding, many providers settle UPI or IMPS requests within a few hours. Delays beyond two to three days without a clear explanation should be treated as a warning sign.
Is online betting through Laser247 lawful in India?
The Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act, 2025, which received Presidential assent on 22 August 2025, prohibits the offering, advertising and financial facilitation of online money games in India. Several states also maintain their own prohibitions. Laser247 holds no Indian licence. This summary is general information and not legal advice.
Are winnings subject to income tax?
Under Section 194BA of the Income-tax Act, net winnings from online games are taxed at 30 per cent, with applicable surcharge and cess. Offshore platforms do not generally deduct this tax at source, but the obligation to declare and pay it remains with the individual.
What personal information does a provider legitimately require?
Ordinarily a name and a WhatsApp number are sufficient to open an account. A provider has no legitimate reason to request a one-time password, a UPI PIN, card details or internet-banking credentials. Requests for identity documents should be questioned before anything is sent.
Is there a Laser247 customer care telephone number?
We are not aware of any public customer care line. Account matters are handled through the chat of the provider who issued the ID. Numbers advertised on unrelated websites or social media as a Laser247 helpline should be regarded as fraudulent.
Are Laser247, Laser 24/7 and Lesar 247 the same?
Laser247 and Laser 24/7 refer to the same platform, and Lesar 247 is a frequent misspelling of the name. Laser 555 is unconnected. Clone sites deliberately register similar spellings, so the spelling of any address should be checked against the one supplied by your provider.
Can one person hold more than one Laser247 ID?
Providers each issue their own IDs, so it is possible to hold accounts with two different providers, and some regular customers do so to avoid depending on a single one. Holding several accounts with the same provider, or opening accounts in another person's name, may breach the provider's terms and can lead to accounts being closed.
What happens to the balance if the platform address is blocked?
A blocked address does not affect the balance itself, which is recorded on the platform rather than on any one domain. The provider can supply a working address, at which the same credentials will show the same balance. A message claiming that a blocked address has caused funds to be lost, or that a fee is needed to restore them, should be treated as fraudulent.
What should a person do if they suspect fraud?
Stop all further payments, record the evidence, and contact the national cybercrime helpline on 1930 as quickly as possible. A complaint can also be lodged at cybercrime.gov.in. The bank or payment application should be informed of the transaction. Offers to recover lost funds in exchange for a fee are themselves fraudulent.
Where can someone get help if betting has become a problem?
Free, confidential support is available from Tele-MANAS, the government mental health helpline, on 14416, and from iCall, a counselling service run by the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, on 9152987821. A general practitioner is also an appropriate first point of contact.
